Here’s hoping all my Southern neighbours voted today.

And, to be honest, here’s hoping you voted for anyone except Romney.

Cheers

Update

Hi followers,

I just wanted to let you know that I am leaving today for a vacation, and I won’t be back home until the 27th. There will be no posts during that time, sorry! But rest assured that I will be somewhere warm and will be drinking entirely too much wine.

Cheers!

Hey all,

I’m at a political science conference this week and won’t be posting. See you Monday!!

Happy Victoria day!

Hope you’re all managing to enjoy it. No posts today, I’m afraid.

Cheers!

There won’t be any updates today; my 4th year thesis is due and I very much would like to graduate.

Back to regularly scheduled programming tomorrow!

Easter, etc.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to quickly inform you that unlike regularly scheduled, I won’t be posting today or Monday because of good Friday/Easter, in large part because I’ll be spending it with family to celebrate my niece’s birthday.

Have a great weekend and break! Try not to miss me too much!

Cheers

Just a reminder for my older followers and a notice to my new:

I love submissions!

Whether you’ve created it yourself, saw it on a website, saw it done by a friend…I would be thrilled to post your art (poetry, short stories, paintings, drawings, etc). It gives the blog a personal, community-like feel, and also saves me a little bit of work.

Cheers!

Theme

There might not be themes for a couple of weeks; I’m really loaded down with homework right now. They’ll resume when I feel the inspiration. Sorry!

Have a great weekend.

Theme

So, today’s theme is Space (the final frontier).

Since humans have existed as we know them, they’ve been perplexed and amazed by the glory of the stars. It is not a particularly atheistic past-time to question what’s beyond the scope of our own vision, but it remains an incredibly worthy past-time nonetheless.

Thematic Elements

Today’s theme is Occam’s Razor. Hopefully it’s not too simple (har har).

Theme

Last week I decided to ask for theme suggestions from you, the people. (This is a democracy, I suppose).

I received three suggestions, all of which I really enjoyed, so without further ado, today’s theme is children and religion, which was suggested (not quite in these terms) by atheos.

That is all.

Today

Hello faithful followers (haha),

There is no theme today, sorry! Unfortunately, the theme posts take me longer to plan and with this being the second last week of the school term, I simply haven’t had enough time. I’ll do better next week, I promise!

On that note: any theme suggestions for the future?

I just wanted to release somewhat of a ‘notice’ before the next image goes up.

Sometimes I post things that are highly controversial, and even debatably accurate. I don’t post these things in an effort to make you think “oh, look at those stupid Christians/Muslims/Jews!”, or even to say “look at all the terrible things religious people have done!”, or to demonize any group of people in any way.

The main reason that I post the things I do is to show you that there are atheists or agnostics out there who create art, and that there is art created that deals specifically with religion or the absence thereof. Sometimes this art will offend you, sometimes you will wholeheartedly agree, and sometimes you may think it’s the most asinine thing you’ve ever seen on the internet, but in the end, it will make you think.

Writers

Today’s theme will be 19th century writers, and I just wanted to clarify that my categorical choice of 19th century means only that the writers were born in the 1800’s.

Today will be part of a larger theme of writers, and in the coming Fridays I will have early 20th century, modern day, feminist, and other kinds of writers.

If you have a writer category that you would like to suggest, I would love to hear it.
